The workers, under the aegis Non-Academic Staff Union (NASU) and National Association of Academic Technologists (NAAT) in the six campuses of the institution, embarked on an indefinite strike over the non-payment of their allowances among other entitlements.
In a statement, the Registrar of the university, Dr. Julius Faniran, said adequate notice was not given before the unions embarked on the strike.
Addressing the workers at the Osogbo campus, the NASU Chairman, Comrade Isaiah Fayemi insisted that the union had served the management a notice of strike and described its threat not to pay members of staff their salary as “laughable.”
 “UniOsun is the only institution in the whole Southwest that is not enjoying the hazard allowance. LASU, EKSU, TASUED and even LAUTECH that is co-owned by Osun and Oyo state governments has been faithfully paying this hazard allowance,” Fayemi said.
Both unions insisted they would not call off  the strike until  management meets their demands.
The workers are demanding for the implementation of the hazard allowance arrears, overtime allowance and other special allowances.
