UNIUYO appoints new registrar, librarian

The University of Uyo (UNI UYO), Akwa Ibom State, has appointed Mr. Aniediabasi Udofia as registrar and Professor Ahiaoma Ibegwam as the institution’s librarian.
A statement from the university’s Director of Information and Public Relations, Mr. Godfrey Essien, noted that Udofia had worked in UNIUYO, University of Lagos and the University of Agriculture, Abeokuta, in different capacities.
Udofia, who holds a Master’s degree in Educational Technology from UNIUYO, was principal assistant registrar and head, Academic Staff Establishments Unit (Directorate of Personnel Affairs) 2009 to 2010 and assistant registrar and head liaison office, Lagos (2001 to 2003).
Furthermore, he had also worked at the University of Agriculture, Abeokuta as Deputy Registrar, Vice Chancellor’s Office from 2010 to 2012 and as Deputy Registrar and Secretary, Postgraduate School in 2016.
Meanwhile, a statement from Mrs. Edak Umondak (now former Registrar and Secretary to institution’s Council) said Ibegwam would serve a single term of five years.
The statement added that Ibegwam was appointed the university librarian at the 74th meeting of the university’s governing council, to succeed Prof. Felicia Etim, whose tenure had expired.
Before her appointment, Ibegwam was a librarian at the Michael Okpara University of Agriculture, Umudike from 2010 to 2015.
She had also served as the librarian with the College of Medicine, University of Lagos, where she rose through the ranks as librarian II to principal medical librarian and acting medical librarian.
She has a Bachelor Degree in History from the University of Calabar; a Master’s degree in Educational Administration from UNILAG, Masters of Library and Information Science from UNILAG and a PhD from the University of Ibadan.
