University established 8 fish ponds, reactivates poultry farms in Imo

The Vice-Chancellor of the institution, Prof. Ukachukwu Awuzie, said this yesterday while conducting members of the Correspondents Chapel of NUJ, Imo State Council, round the facilities in the institution.
He said that his target was to make the faculty of Agriculture and Veterinary medicine serve as a major income earner for the university.
The V-C said that the poultry farm sells eggs and broilers to the university community and members of the general public.
He regretted the deplorable state of the university’s fishponds, saying that soon, the fishponds would be rehabilitated.
Awuzie said that the institution has increased the number of pigs in the piggery, adding that the measure has made pigs available in the market.
He disclosed that more goats and rabbits have also been brought to the university’s farm while the moribund feed mill has been rahabilitated.
