University of Nsukka nominates author for award

University of Nigeria, Nsukka, has nominated Dr. Bukar Usman, folklorist and historian for ethical and value-oriented leadership award.
This was contained in a letter signed by Dr. Ani Casimir Kingston Chukwunoyelum, Director, Directorate of Strategic Contacts, Ethics and Publications. Among other reasons, the award will be given for Dr. Usman’s personal and institutional appreciation of the national strategic need to embed core values in the education system to achieve technological and ethical innovation in tertiary institutions to achieve the goals of sustainable development in the country.
The award will be given during the events of the Ethics, Governance and Higher Education Conference scheduled for November 23 to 26, 2016 where Dr. Usman has been enlisted as Special Guest, an awardee and an institutional partner.
Dr. Usman is president of the Nigerian Folklore Society. He is the author of over twenty-five books (both in English and Hausa), which include ‘Language Disappearance and Cultural Diversity in Biu Emirate’, ‘Taskar Tatsuniyoyi’ and ‘Girl-Child Education in Biu Emirate.’
