The management of the University of Africa, Toru-Orua, Sagbama Local Government Area of Bayelsa State, has warned its fresh students against the menace of cultism and other antisocial vices during their educational pursuit in the institution.

The acting vice chancellor of the Bayelsa State owned university, Professor Valentine Aletor, gave the warning yesterday during the maiden matriculation ceremony and first distinguished public lecture series for the pioneer intakes of the institution.

The VC, who announced that 370 pioneer students were admitted into various programmes in four faculties of the institution, said the university management will deal decisively with any student who defaulted from the rules and regulations stipulated in the students handbook.

Prof. Aletor said: “We will have zero tolerance for cultism, gangsterism, use of hard drugs, indecent dressing, bullying, insubordination to constituted authorities and all other anti-social conducts.”
