Unizik goes into commercial production of plastics

The Nnamdi Azikiwe University (Unizik), Awka, Anambra State, has concluded plans to go into large-scale commercial production of plastic products.
The director of Civil Work Production Process of the institution, Professor C.C. Ihuneze, disclosed this when the Vice Chancellor, Professor Joseph Ahaneku, visited the plastic production plant on a facility tour.
Presenting samples of the products to the VC, which included cups, plates and bowls, Professor Ihuneze stated that the plant was ready to go into full time commercial production of quality products.
According to Prof Ihuneze, the factory used a world-class machine in the production of plastics capable of producing over 2,000 desired product of different kinds every day.
He also disclosed that the machine could be used to train students in the university.
In his remarks, the vice chancellor expressed gratitude to the management and the director of the industrial unit for their dedication towards the actualization of the production plan of the university.
He told the management of the plastic plant that the university would always be committed to ensuring the full commercialization of its industrial units.
