Unizik honours Kinagibe, Achebe, Offor at 13th convocation

The Nnamdi Azikiwe University (Unizik), Awka, Anambra State, will tomorrow honour Ambassador Baba Gana Kingibe, Obi of Onitsha, Igwe Alfred Achebe, and Mr. Emeka Offor at its 13th convocation in recognition of their outstanding contributions towards human capital and national development.

The Vice Chancellor of Unizik, Prof. Joseph Ahaneku, said this at a press conference.

Prof. Ahaneku said Amb. Baba Gana Kingibe, a veteran politician, would be honoured with Doctor of Politics and Strategy, Achebe, the traditional ruler of Onitsha, would be conferred with Doctor of Science, while Chief Emeka Offor, a businessman, would receive Doctorate of Entrepreneurship.

The VC said 790 students would be conferred with masters and 295 would bad doctorate degrees.

He also disclosed that the university would install seven academics, including three former vice chancellors of the university, with the emeritus-professor title.

He said President Muhammadu Buhari would commission 17 projects and lay foundation for 16 others.
