In continuation of ongoing efforts to address the humanitarian crises in the North-East, the United Nations Office for the Coordination of humanitarian affairs (UNOCHA) is organizing a workshop with the theme “2018 Northeast Nigeria Humanitarian Programme Cycle-Humanitarian Response Planning.” The workshop is scheduled to take place at the Bolton White Hotel, Garki Abuja on the 11th &12th of October 2017.
Among the participants expected at the event are PCNI, NEMA, Ministry of Budget and National Planning, Government and UN sector co-leads, World Bank and Humanitarian and Development Donors among others.
The workshop will review available and current plans and frameworks for humanitarian operations in the six North-Eastern states, review the government’s and international humanitarian response to the humanitarian crisis in 2017 including gaps and obstacles to the delivery of assistance, set parameters, strategic priorities and monitoring and evaluation frameworks for the 2018 Humanitarian Response Plan. The workshop is expected to adopt an approach that synthesizes humanitarian assistance with developmental programmes for sustainable recovery
