Ukanacho said the call for cancellation is based on the high profile rigging and irregularities witnessed during the election.
He said: “Imo State elections was marred with irregularities and that is why my party is asking for the cancellation of the election.”
He strongly maintained that he won in most of the local government areas in the state such as Oru East, Ohaji/Egbema, Mbaitoli, Owerri Municipal, Ikeduru among others.
He said: “My party scored 1,125 votes in Atta ward in Ikeduru but was surprised that 895 votes was allotted to them in the result collated at INEC which is not acceptable.”
He accused both the INEC in Imo State and the security agencies of compromising, as he called on the INEC chairman to come to Imo State and re conduct another election in the interest of peace.
On the declaration of the governorship election inconclusive, the party flag bearer said that the party would not participate in any re-run election but would only participate in the fresh conduct of election in the 27 local government areas in Imo State.
He accused the APC of sharing money and food to people during the period of election in the state.
