In the wake of the recent tragic events in Uromi, Edo State, where a mob killed 16 individuals suspected of being kidnappers, Hon. Engr. Sani Bala Tsanyawa, Chairman of the House Committee on Public Service, has expressed appreciation for the prompt and decisive actions taken by President Bola Tinubu, the National Assembly, and state governors.
Hon. Tsanyawa commended President Tinubu for his immediate directive to security agencies, emphasizing the need for clear and decisive action to address the crisis.
He stated, “The President’s swift response underscores his unwavering commitment to the safety and security of all Nigerians. Such leadership ensures that justice is served and that culprits are isolated to prevent future occurrences.”
Furthermore, Hon. Tsanyawa lauded the National Assembly for initiating a thorough investigation into the killings.
He highlighted the importance of legislative oversight in such matters, noting that comprehensive inquiries are vital to uncover the root causes and to develop strategies that prevent similar incidents in the future.
The Edo State Governor’s actions also received praise from Hon. Tsanyawa.
He acknowledged the Governor’s decision to transfer the suspects to Abuja for proper investigation, ensuring transparency and impartiality in the process.
Additionally, the Governor’s visit to Kano to commiserate with the families of the affected demonstrated empathy and solidarity during this challenging time.
Reflecting on the tragedy, Hon. Tsanyawa extended his heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims.
“May Allah have mercy on the souls of the departed and grant their families the strength to bear this loss. It is our collective hope and prayer that such a tragic event never occurs again in our nation,” he prayed.
