 The United States ESmbassy in Nigeria, in partnership with the Fulani Initiative for Protection of Environment and Less Privileged (FUPEL), has constructed classrooms in a Zamfara community.

 The block of two classrooms was built and commissioned at Government Day Secondary School, Gada, Bungudu Local Government Area.

 The embassy contributed 90 per cent of the cost of the project, 7 per cent from Bungudu Local Government Area while the FUPEL and the community also contributed.

 The Executive Director of FUPEL, Mr Bachiri Sarkin Fulani, said the aim of the project was to decongest jam-packed classrooms in the school with a population of about 410 students.

 “We are delighted about the partnership with the US Embassy in supporting our communities and the effort to touch the lives of the vulnerable,” he said.

The Commissioner for Education who was represented by the Director Human Resource of the education ministry said government would equip the classes while the School Based Management Committee would make sure they are maintained.
