The Federal Government has been called upon to do all it can to “create an expanded modern railway system for Nigeria covering all seaports, airports and motor parks in major industrial and commercial centres.”

At the end of its national executive council meeting recently in Abuja, the Senior Staff Association of Communications, Transport and Corporations (SSACTAC) issued a communiqué calling on government to build world-class airports that will justify Nigeria’s role as a hub for commerce and industry in the West African sub-region.
The communiqué signed by the President General of SSACTAC Comrade Muhammad Yunusa advised government to “recognize the functional role of the Federal Housing Authority (FHA) at its inauguration and the Federal Housing Policy”.
It therefore wants government to apply the expertise of FHA in the move “to bridge the country’s scandalous housing deficit”.   
The association declared support for President Muhammadu Buhari’s change agenda and fight against corruption and called on the legislature and the judiciary arms of government as well as the people of Nigeria to cooperate with the administration.
SSACTAC kicked against tough labour policies saying, “We’ll resist through all available means plans by owners of business and government at all levels to adopt Public Private Partnership (PPP) plans or privatization in whatever form that is unfavourable to employees and the Nigerian masses.
“Whatever is wrong with us and our country must now be put right.
“Our schools, public health centres and hospitals must meet the expected standards and tailored to meet our needs and objectives.”
