‘Use local engineers to drive economy diversification’

The Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE) has called on the Federal Government to use indigenous engineers to drive its economy diversification plan. 

NSE Deputy President, Mr Adekunle Mokuolu stated  this at the weekend in Auchi, the Headquarters of Etsako-West Local Government Area of Edo during the induction of 73 engineers into the society

Delivering a lecture titled “Diversification of Nigeria Economy: Depend on Engineers,” he said it was imperative for government to ensure that indigenous engineers were directly involved in the development of nation’s economy. 

He urged government to come up with innovative policies to speed up the diversification of the nation’s economy using her engineers as arrow head. 

He noted that the quest for diversification of the nation’ economy with focus on engineering and technical development could get the nation`s out of the economic recession. Mokuolu urged governments at all levels to be committed to planning for economic value and infrastructure development. Earlier, the chairman of Auchi branch of NSE, Mr Okodugha Aluyah, urged the new inductees to uphold the ethics of the profession for the overall benefit of the country.
