USPF key to achieving eight points agenda- NCC

Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) has said that the Universal Service Provision Fund is tied to achieving four of its eight points agenda.
The telecoms industry regulator also assured on collaboration with stakeholders in building a sustainable universal access and service infrastructure to improve quality of service and promote socio-economic development in Nigeria through ICT.
The Executive Vice Chairman, Prof. Umar Garba Danbatta disclosed this during stakeholders forum organised by Universal Service Provision Fund (USPF).
The EVC listed the four of the 8-point agenda tied to the USPF to include facilitating broadband penetration; improve quality of service; promote ICT innovation and investment opportunities and facilitate strategic collaboration and partnership.
Danbatta said at the event titled: Universal access: Eliminating the inclusion barriers’ that the partnerships was a roadmap in achieving of universal access in Nigeria.
According to him, the commission was vigorously working hard to provide telephony service to rural area so as  to reduce the 36.8 million people who are identified as unserved and underserved population in Nigeria.
