V-C warns fresh students to desist from negative activities

Orumwense gave the warning during the matriculation ceremony of over 5, 000 fresh students at the Akin Deko Auditorium of the university, weekend.
He urged the new students to pay attention to their academic activities, saying that their success at the university would be measured by their grades.
According to him, the university’s e-library will enhance their learning, adding: “As students, you are expected to exhibit discipline, loyalty, honesty and be good ambassador of this university all the time. Energy wasting in pursuit of unlawful gains or destructive union activities is tantamount to misplaced priority and contributes to lowering of standard of education.”
The Registrar, Mrs O.G Ogboghodo, while administering the matriculation oath on the students, enjoined them to consider the ceremony as a formal admission into the university.
She encouraged them to make their parents proud by graduating with colourful grades.
