The need for women to collaborate has been emphasised as the gateway to success for women in business at the recently concluded women entrepreneurs summit organised by the NECA’s Network of Entrepreneurial Women (NNEW) in Lagos.

Explaining the rationale behind the summit, NNEW president, Mrs Modupe Oyekunle, said women need to work together so as to achieve their business goals.

“The objective of this summit is to demystify the belief that women cannot work together. It is possible. We need to work together to achieve our goals. We all are entrepreneurs and we want our business to grow.

“For a woman’s business to grow, she needs support in terms of training, finance but it cannot be done alone. It is not possible to clap with only one hand. Until women come together, we may not be able to achieve more,” she said.

The chairperson of the summit, Olakitan Wellington, noted that women need to support one another while stressing the need to “ask more questions, take calculated risks, ask for help, ask for mentorship.”
