Vandal arrested with stolen electrical items in Edo

Operatives of the Edo State Security Corps have arrested a suspected vandal for allegedly stealing electrical components from a building under renovation.

The suspect, identified simply as Joshua, was apprehended by operatives on Ewa Road, Benin City, while in possession of the stolen items.

The suspect reportedly entered the building under renovation and removed electrical components from a prepared meter with the intention of selling them. It was gathered that Joshua was caught while en route to meet a waiting buyer.

Investigations revealed that the suspect gained access by pretending to be a worker at the site, allowing him to dismantle and make away with the materials.

The Deputy Commander of Operations for the Corps, Richard Balogun, confirmed the arrest and the recovery of the stolen items. He stated that the suspect has been handed over to the police for further investigation and prosecution.
