In a bid to make its students Information and Communication Technology (ICT) compliant, the management of Mountain Top University (MTU), Ogun State, has distributed about 160 Galaxy tablets to its students.
Speaking at the event, the vice chancellor, Prof. Elijah Ayolabi, said the decision to provide the students with Galaxy tabs is to reflect the current digital age the world has moved into.
Ayolabi said the tablets will give students the opportunity to research and access online resources that would enhance both their academic and professional pursuits.
“We realise that this is digital age and to capture these students, we have to also go digital. We felt there is a need to create something that would make learning interesting for them while at the same time creating better and conducive environment.
“Since they joined the varsity, they have been having access to their notes; having access to the library and our online library is also there 24/7 to be accessed,” the V-C said.
