Vice-Chancellor, Sule Lamido University (SLU), Kafin Hausa, Professor Lawan Sani Taura, described communicable diseases as easily transmittable, hence the need for more sensitisation on their causes and preventive measures.

A statement issued by the university said the call was made on Tuesday at a public lecture on Lassa fever, Covid-19 (Corona Virus), and other communicable diseases.

In his welcome address, the Vice-Chancellor of the University, Professor Lawan Sani Taura, described communicable diseases as easily transmittable, hence the need for more sensitisation on their causes and preventive measures.

Professor Taura, who was represented by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Dr. Umar Saje, called on the university community and the public to ensure a clean environment to prevent rats and other reptiles that might cause diseases such Lassa fever and/or Coronavirus, from their surroundings.
