Segun Awosanya, Managing Consultant , VISDAV Consulting, said his company was recently in Katsina State to automate the revenue process activity of the Motor Licensing Administration MLA of the Board of Internal Revenue.
“This we are doing by the deployment of our software for the state called “VCentral Application” and the deployment of the hardware infrastructure and use of high level security documents to mitigate revenue leakage and document forgery.
“All of this at no cost to the state but by Public Private Partnership PPP. As at now all of these are in place and Board staff that will be using the systems, numbering about 50, have been trained by us. The project is going live from Monday 2, March 2015,” he said.
Awosanya said the benefits to Katsina include quantum leap in revenue profile from MLA, mitigation of document forgery, blockage of perceived leakages associated with manual operations, enhancement of staff capacity in computer and automation literacy.
He added that other benefits include enhancement of state enforcement strategies in vehicle administration and building secured database of vehicle owners in the state and there will be a projection of more than 100% increase in revenue profile of state within 12 months.
