Currently, it is estimated that over 5000 Nigerians seek medical attention broad annually with Nigeria loosing in excess of N70 billion with over N40 billion from the sum going to India.
The over N2 billion, ISO 14,000 compliant Vedic Lifecare facility, a wholly Nigerian own state-of-art facility has technical and management support from India’s third largest hospital, Manipal Hospitals.
Dr. Benedict Chibuze Opkala, a director in Vedic Lifecare Limited told newsmen at the launch of the facility in Lagos that with the facility, more Nigerians will have access to high quality medical care in Nigeria without travelling abroad, saving Nigeria huge foreign exchange adding that the facility will provide same quality medical care found anywhere in the world.
 “It took us about 20 months to build and equip the facility. We can assure our rates will be affordable and competitive. For the less privilege, we have created an NGO, Lifecare Foundation, that will run side by side the facility. We will appeal to companies and the government agencies to fund the NGO so the less privileged can access quality medical care like renal dialysis etc. for free using the NGO platform,” he explained.
“Our facility can make pin point diagnosis, prepare the patients and refer them to the appropriate hospital for specific treatments,” he noted.
Dr. Opkala also noted that the Lagos facility is a pilot facility thus, in the near future; the facility will be replicated in Abuja, Port Harcourt and Warri adding that Vedic care will also go into super specialty in a few years from  now.
