Elizabeth Evoeme, affectionately known as Ovularia from the beloved 1980s sitcom ‘The New Masquerade’, has died at 81.
In a statement from the Evoeme Emekalam family, they thanked friends, fans, and colleagues for their support and requested privacy during this difficult time. “The family of Elizabeth Lizzy ‘Ovularia’ Evoeme, the esteemed actress from ‘The New Masquerade’, is announcing her passing. She will be greatly missed by her family and all who loved her.
“We are grateful for your support and ask for privacy as we mourn. May God bless you all, and may our beloved Elizabeth ‘Ovularia’ Evoeme rest in perfect peace.”
This news comes four and a half years after false rumours circulated about Ovularia’s death on November 5, 2019, following a misleading Twitter post by Churchill Ebhodaghe. She had then clarified that she was alive and well.
