Victim of EndSARS protest cries for help

He said the protesters carted away items, which include thousands of bags of fertilizer

A businessman, Dr Abubakar Jugulde, who lost about N187million when his warehouse and office were looted by EndSARS protesters in Jalingo, has called on the federal government to assist him.

He told North East Trust in an interview that his warehouse and office were looted on  October 20 last year by hundreds of youths during the EndSARS protest.

He said the protesters carted away items, which include thousands of bags of fertilizer, bags of rice seeds, agrochemicals and precious stones.

Dr Jugulde stated further that furniture, air-conditioners, TV sets, carpets among others were also looted from his office.

He said his personal vehicle which was parked at the office was  also vandalised by the protesters.

Jugulde, who  is a major dealer in agro chemicals, fertilizer, seeds and precious stones in Jalingo, said  he lost all his capital during the EndSARS protest.

“It was my private warehouse and office and there was no any item belonging to the government that was stored in my  warehouse yet the items were carted away by the protesters”

He lamented that the team sent by the federal government to inspect government warehouses looted by EndSARS protesters refused to visit his warehouse even though a report was made on the incident.

He, therefore, appealed to the minister of humanitarian affairs and disaster management to look into his plight.
