 The Anambra State Police Command has arrested the commander of the state vigilante group for allegedly torturing a policewoman.

The commander was seen in a trending video harassing and torturing a female police officer in the state. The video surfaced on Wednesday.

The state’s Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Ikenga Tochukwu, said the Commissioner of Police, Echeng Echeng, ordered the arrest of the vigilante boss adding that the incident happened in Nnobi, Idemili South Local Government Area of the state.

“The CP while describing the act as cowardly assures that the command is always ready in protecting the women against violence,” the PPRO said in a statement.
