A vigilante group in Tudun Wada area of Jos, Plateau State capital, yesterday arrested two suspected notorious criminals terrorising the area.

The first suspect whose name was given as Awai, aka Ten Crazy, was said to have been breaking into shops and stealing goods, which he sold to a ready buyer called Sunny.

The vigilante group on patrol apprehended him with items and upon interrogation found out that he broke into a trader’s shop and stole several goods.

Daily Trust gathered that after angry youths descended on him, the suspect confessed to committing the crime as well as most other crimes and burglaries in the area, and then led the vigilante to the home of one Sunny to apprehend him.‎

Items like sewing machines, weaving machines among others were recovered from Sunny’s house, the group said.

The suspect said he is a worker at building sites, but engaged in criminal activities because his earnings can hardly sustain him.

The vigilantes said the suspect had been handed over to the police for further interrogation.
