Three persons were on Sunday night abducted from Yakasai village in Kurfi Local Government Area of Katsina State.

Those abducted included an an elderly man, Audu Haruna, a youth simply identified as Sabe and a woman, whose name was not readily available at the time of filing this report.

Sources said the gunmen is attacked the village at about midnight and went straight to the residence of Haruna, shooting sporadically as they made away with the trio.

Sabe, who was shot in the leg and the woman were later rescued by local vigilante after the villagers sought for help.

The commander of Kurfi vigilante, Nura Liman while confirming the incidence said “At about midnight, they went to his house shooting sporadically. They shot one Sabe in his leg and attacked another Harisu in his head. They later took Haruna, Sabe and the woman.

“The villagers reached out to us and we went after them. We came across six of the kidnappers and we were able to rescue the two and they went with Haruna,” he said.

The police was yet to respond to enquiry made on this incidence.

However, the spokesman of the state police command, SP Gambo Isah, confirmed the rescue of one Malam Idi Dodo of Sabon Garin Safana in Dutsinma LGA, who was kidnapped last week.

He equally confirmed the abduction of one Alhaji Muntari of Unguwar Tambaya in the same LGA, noting that the command was working towards his rescue.
