Some members of a vigilante group have foiled attempt by suspected Kidnappers to abduct the Chief of Gwomani community, in Kwali Area council of the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, Alhaji Adamu Saba.
Alhaji Saba, while narrating the incident via a telephone interview with our reporter said the incident happened on Sunday around 7:23 pm when gunmen invaded the community.

He said he was resting inside the compound after he held a meeting with some clerics and community leaders of the area, when he heard sporadic gun shots from different directions.
“It was when I discovered that it was 5:pm already and my car had no spare tyre, which I now decided to pass the night.
Until at about 7: pm after Magrib prayers when I started hearing gun shots from different directions, I was told that Kidnappers were engaging the vigilantes in a shoot out,” he said.
The monarch said the courage summoned by the vigilantes to engage the Kidnappers in the shoot out forced them (abdcutors) to flee from the community.
“So I quickly put a call to the police Area commander in Gwagwalada, who came with his men that night and convey men inside the vehicle to Kwali , ” he said.
The spokesperson of the FCT police command, ASP Maryam Yusuf, could not be reached for comment.
She was yet to reply to text message sent to her either.
