Defending champion Offa Volleyball Club of Kwara state has defeated Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) 3-0 to record their first win at the ongoing 2024 Comptroller General of Customs Volleyball Premier League.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the match played at the Moshood Abiola National in Abuja, Offa VC displayed their supremacy by defeating NIS in all three sets.
The Offa side won the first set 25-19, the second set 25-23 and the third set 25-20 to register their first victory.
Speaking after the match, the coach of Offa VC, Suleiman Ajeigbe, said he thanked God for giving victory over their first game.

“We give God all our glory, he is the one that made it happen it is not by our might nor by our power.
” We are going to be playing Nigeria Customs Service in our next game. we are here to give all it takes in all our games and if possible win this year’s league,”he said.
On his part, the coach of NIS Ibrahim Mangani said his boys won even though they lost their first game.
“We will work on our lapses before our next match and work on our mistakes, they will surely do better in their next game, he said.
NAN reports Nigeria Customs Service is the sponsor of the 2024 edition of the Volleyball Premier League.
The league is organized by the Nigeria Volleyball Federation (NVBF) in collaboration with the Nigeria Customs Service.
NAN reports that Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps(NSCDC), lost to the Nigeria Correctional Service (1-3) while Kada Kings beat the Nigeria Customs Service 3-2.
24 teams, including 12 men and 12 women, are participating in the League.
The first phase of the League which started on Aug. 26 is expected to end on Sept. 10.
