Some stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Abia State have asked the people of the state to vote out the Labour Party (LP)-led government in the state in the 2027 general election.
Addressing newsmen on Tuesday in Abuja, leader of the APC stakeholders and former commissioner for information and strategy in Abia State, Barr. Eze Chikamnayo, who was flanked by many others said the LP- led government has not lived up to expectations.
Daily Trust reports that Abia is run by Governor Alex Otti, who won a first term election in 2023, on the platform of the Labour Party.
Barrister Chikamnayo noted that despite President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s recent directive that the “grassroots should be watered”, the masses in Abia have been left to suffer.
“The government announced that it had renovated 51 public schools across the 17 LGAs in the state. But we discovered during a tour across the LGAs that these schools are in terrible dilapidated conditions.
“Propaganda is taking the place of performance in Abia. Nigerians are beginning to be deceived. What the government is telling us is different from what is on ground,” he said.
“The people in the state of Abia are suffering and living in unimaginable situation of agony. The governor is supposed to give an account of all federal allocations to the state.
“We challenge the government to publish the 51 imaginary schools, their locations, name of the contractors and the amounts expended for all citizens to see. We challenge Governor Otti to quickly account for all that he has claimed in his budget performance report.
“We warn Nigerians to reject LP in the next election in Abia State. It’s a social media government. Nigerians should come to our rescue. The APC should rescue Abia people,” he added.
