Victims Support Fund (VSF) has said it is spending N1.2billion to reconstruct Government Secondary School, Takum in Taraba State which was destroyed by the Boko Haram terrorists.

The Executive Secretary of the Fund, Dr. Sunday Ocheche disclosed this while signing the agreement for the project with Taraba State government and Development Africa in Abuja on Thursday.

He said the school which is to be completed in six months will rank among the best in the country in term of facilities when completed.

Dr. Ocheche said the school is strategic in the education of youths within the Northeast as it is made up of students from the state, Benue and Borno states as well as Cameroon.

He noted that the body had scaled up its interventions in the Northeast following the gains recorded so far by the military.

Speaking at the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signing ceremony, the governor of Taraba State, Darius Ishaku who expressed delight over the project, said students were learning under the trees.

Represented by the state Commissioner of Education, Jigem Johannes, he said the government couldn’t undertake the project because of paucity of fund.

On his part, the representative of the construction company, Development Africa, Joshua Kempeneer assured that his company will deliver the project within the six months timeline.
