This was contained in a statement issued in Kano and signed by WACOT Human Resource Officer, Malam Abu Halliru, saying the free medical treatment scheme was inaugurated to improve farmers’ health in the area.
“The free medical treatment to farmers is aimed at assisting farmers with a view to improving their health and ensure their active participation in all agricultural activities that will lead to greater harvest,” the statement read in part.
The statement quoted Head of WACOT’s Corporate Responsibility and Sustainability (CRS), Mr Annuj Bhatia, saying the initiative would promote a healthy and productive farming community.
It acknowledged the support of farmers to the company which started business with cotton ginning before it ventured into fertiliser production, tractors, seed and other agric inputs.
