Omenugha said government will not hesitate to declare war on the so-called special and miracle centres that students rush to for the writing of their West African Examinations.
The commissioner made the disclosure when the state branch of National Association of Proprietors of Private Schools (NAPPS) paid her a courtesy visit.
She said that it would no longer be business as usual for such centres in the state, stressing that the ministry was determined to stop their dubious way of conducting examinations.
She said: “Special and miracle centres would be fought against by the present administration. It is one of the visions of the government in the state. I will soon begin to visit schools to ensure that standard is maintained.’’
She said that the state government was packaging some innovations aimed at improving the education sector.
President of the association, Mr Sunday Anaekwe, promised that they would continue to support government’s policy on education in the state.
He said that the association would partner with government in the crusade against special and miracle centres.
