The Executive Chairman of the National Salaries, Incomes and Wages Commission, Chief Richard Egbule says his commission and the National Productivity Centre (NPC) had carried out productivity measurement of some key organizations in Nigeria notably the Nigerian Immigration Service, Federal Road Safety Corps, among others.
The chairman gave the commendation recently during a courtesy visit to the commission by the Director-General of the NPC Alhaji Kashim Akor.
Egbule noted that the collaborative effort had positively affected the performance of these agencies. He therefore called for a continuation of the collaboration to ensure a larger proportion of the public service is covered for more meaningful impact on the performance of the agencies.
While responding, the Director-General of the National Productivity Centre, Alhaji Kashim Akor disclosed that the centre was developing a template for the production of a Productivity Linked Wage System (PLWS) in Nigeria.
He explained that the objective of the (PLWS) is to link productivity and wages to enhance the productivity of Nigerian workers.
The DG stated that the purpose of his visit was to renew the relationship between the centre and the commission as well as soliciting the support of the commission in the production of the template for the Productivity Linked Wages System in Nigeria.
He said that NPC is poised to become a key player in the realization of Nigeria’s developmental goals.
