Nigeria’s Waje recently did a cover of Ed Sheeran’s chart-topping ‘Shape of You’ song. The artist spiced up the track with a Nigerian touch and in some cases put in a winning baritone.
The video of the cover shows Waje in a studio, seeming to read the ‘Shape of You’ lines off her smart phone while she sits. Across from her sits a man, busy with studio gadgets and toward the end of the track, they hold hands laughing.
Waje, whose real name is Aituaje Iruobe, participated in the remake of P-Square’s ‘Omoge Mi’, and featured as the female voice in the duo’s 2008 hit track ‘Do Me’.
