Wali disclosed this yesterday in Abuja when he received in audience the Cuban Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr Bruno Rodriguez, in his office where both discussed issues of mutual interest.
“There is willingness on the side of both countries to sign bilateral agreements for the benefit of the people and we are committed to pursue them in the interest of our countries especially the development of agriculture.
“I am glad to accept the invitation to visit Cuba which will be my second trip to the country and I feel that by the time we get there some agreements will be signed,” Walisaid.
Earlier, the Cuban Foreign Minister said he is in Nigeria to share common goals between the two countries.
“The opportunity to be in Nigeria is an excellence one. We are aware of Nigeria’s contribution to peace-keeping mission in the world and I hope that at the end of the exchange of ideas it will benefit both countries,” Rodriguez said.
He said they had an excellent talk on bilateral issues during his meeting with Ambassador Wali confirming the excellent relations between the two countries politically and economically among others.
“We see a very huge potential in enhancing our bilateralrelations with Nigeria because of our similar traditions. There is cooperation in the field of health, pharmaceutical, sport, and cultural exchange. I hope that the meeting is timely and I convey a special invitation to the minister for visiting Havana officially and we will work on presidential exchange as well, he said.
