The art exhibition curated by Sandra Mbanefo Obiago aims at exploring the human need to explore the world. The exhibition featured about 36 paintings, photographs, drawings and mixed media from various well recognized artists “wrongly rooted” in Nigeria and Germany.

Obiogo, the curator and artistic director explained that, “I think it is important that art helps us question, reinforce or realign our core values which shape our individual and community evolving histories. I trust the Wanderlust exhibition will bring us to a deeper understanding of the emotional and physical effects of migration and hopefully increase our empathy for the world’s displaced people.”

Amongst the artists present were award winning artist, Chidi Kwubiri, writer-photographer Numero Unoma, photographer, Yetunde Ayeni-Babaeko, and performance artist, Emeka Udenba.

The exhibition focused on exploring both sides of wanderlust, especially the migration in Africa and Europe and the refugees who are looking for safety. The works touched on modern realities of the issues and man’s need to explore from the perspective of Nigerian-German wanderers.
