The Gombe Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mine and Agriculture GOCCIMA became a reality nearly 21 years after the creation of the state through the initial effort of a one time member of the House of Representatives from the Akko federal constituency, Hon. Bello Mohammed.

As Gombe State is endowed with arable agricultural land, mineral and human resources, the Chamber shall do it a lot of good by harnessing these natural resources towards an overall development. It can kick-start by organizing a local trade fair, zonal, national and then international. The basic needs are available: an international airport; befitting hotels; an international stadium as a temporary complex; and of course, an in-coming business-minded government.

On the part of the government, it may agree to a suggestion that it converts and restructure the yet-to-be completed mega motor park in the Gombe metropolis for a permanent trade fair complex. It seems adequate to house even the Chamber’s secretariat.

In the meantime, I implore the pioneer leadership of the GOCCIMA to persevere and stand strong, so that it navigates through with success, the difficulties always associated with steering a new institution.
