War on Gaza: Media Trust chair named for global concert awareness

Chairman of Board, Media Trust Limited, Malam Kabiru Yusuf

In a bid to draw more attention to the plight of Gazans in the ongoing war by Israeli forces, the War in Gaza Global Awareness Concert (WIGGAC) has appointed the Chairman Media Trust Group, Malam Kabiru A. Yusuf, as a member of its International Implementation Committee (IIC).

A letter signed by the Convener of WIGGAC, Ikechukwu Dallas Chima, said as an aficionado of global peace, Malam Kabiru was selected due to his personality laced with human kindness, thus, the need to seek his mental resourcefulness and material contributions to make this global mission a success.

“With profound humility, I convey a formal notification on your appointment as the Grand Patron of the International Implementation Committee (IIC) to organise a global concert to draw global awareness on the need to exercise caution on the deteriorating humanitarian situation in Gaza, and callousness of the thought to displace millions of women, children and elderly from their habitation,” he said.

He said the concert intends to take a musical tour round the globe to cities such as London, Paris, New Delhi, Washington DC, Geneva, Tokyo, Frankfurt, Oslo, Ontario, Johannesburg, Vienna, Ankara, Madrid, Dubai, and other cities across the world, to perform humanitarian songs.

“Notable is #FLIP A COIN (available online streams) composed and sang by the Convener (WIGGAC) to draw attention of the global community, that humanity is first and foremost, and should be the priority of all conflicting parties to the genocide taking place in Gaza.”

“In this respect, we seek your cooperation, time, and wherewithal, to be physically present for the inauguration of members of International Implementation Committee (IIC) on WIGGAC on Monday 26th February 2024 by 2pm at Lagos/Osun Hall, Transcorp Hilton Hotel, Abuja,” the letter reads.

The letter further reads that members of the committee can commence work in earnest to put every logistics in place to actualize the global peace mission.

Meanwhile other members of the committee include Deputy Senate President, Senator Barau Jibrin, who is the grand patron; Minister of Foreign Affairs, Amb. Yusuf Maitama Tuggar, as the Deputy Grand Patron; Chairman/CEO of BUA Group, Abdul Samad Rabiu; Minister of Art, Culture and Creative Economy- Committee Secretary, Hajiya Hannatu Musawa; and Minister of Education, Prof. Tahir Mamman, among others.
