Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Ahmed Idris Wase, has promised to collaborate with the member representing Akko Federal Constituency to facilitate the construction of a road that will link Akko Local Government Area (LGA) in Gombe State via Wase-Lantang-Wamba in Plateau State to ease transportation in the two states.

Wase said this at the weekend in Kumo, headquarters of Akko LGA at the flag-off of youth and women empowerment programme initiated by the member representing Akko Federal Constituency, Usman Bello Kumo.

The deputy speaker commended Bello Kumo for initiating the empowerment programme and always having his constituents in mind.

In his address, Governor Muhammad Inuwa Yahaya said the APC government was on course to meet the yearnings and aspirations of the electorate in line with its next level agenda.

In his remarks, Usman Kumo, who is also the Chairman of the House Committee on Police Affairs, said he initiated the empowerment programme to support women and youths to be self-reliant.

He pledged to remain resolute in the drive to meet the yearnings of his people by initiating developmental programmes that would aid them and reduce poverty in the society.

The empowerment items distributed included 120 motorcycles, 150 sewing machines, 50 sets of power generators and N20,000 to 400 people.
