This is to call on the Kaduna state government to charge less as connection fee for the recently commissioned first phase of the Zaria water project which is targeted to serve two local governments (Zaria and Sabon Gari) in the first instance.

The target is to get this water to the residence of as many people as possible, especially the less privileged who cannot sink boreholes in their houses, it is therefore important for the Kaduna state government through the Kaduna State Water Corporation to get the water to as many resident as possible by charging less fee ( two thousand at least) for at least three months so people would easily connect.

It is better to charge less and have a large number of people paying to connect than to charge a high sum and fewer people would connect as many may not be able to afford such sums. I hope the Kaduna State government and the water corporation agency looks into this suggestion with a view to ensuring that water gets to the houses of as many people as possible.
