How did you come about the name Christ Rydaz?
We first contemplated between Christ Rydaz and Christ Trybe. But there were already too many Trybes in Nigeria so our elder brother Ottovonpablo advised us to be different, that was how we finally chose the Christ Rydaz .

What are your real names ?
The real names of  YoungGod is Ochune Samuel Adah but most people call him Ochi while Figasoul is Idoko peterlane Okeme . YoungGod studied geology  while Figasoul studied sociology. We both attended  Kogi State University, Anyigba.

What inspired you into gospel music?
What actually inspired us to do gospel music is simply because we love JESUS. We come from Christian homes and actually when you have like five pastors then  music becomes your our own way of preaching the gospel to the dying world, our elder brothers actually inspired us too. They had a group called Adah’s in the early 90’s .Our genre of music is primarily Hip-Hop but fused with other genre.
What albums or single gave your group a break through?
We have only had one full work out. But there were two songs on that mixtape that promoted the group very well. They were ‘Put your bible in the air” and “Eshe”. These songs have a enough air play and have been performed in almost all the states in  Nigeria and beyond . But don’t forget that break through only comes from God. We have seen artists with bigger songs and they never got the platform to express them. Basically our music career is totally a definition of grace.
We have seen musicians coming together to form groups and thereafter going their separate ways, don’t you envisage the same happening to your group?
Well we are not everybody and everybody is not us but seriously we are going to be together as long as God wants us together. But that does not mean we won’t be focusing on personal projects in the future but for now the group is our priority and we working on a new album.

What do you aim to achieve through your songs?
We are not here to gather fans, it is not about how many followers we have on Twitter or making headlines on news. This is about the soul. Basically we want to see people change as they listen to our music and watch us perform, our music is evangelical, we want people to see God as they see us, we are God’s ambassador.
What have you been doing lately, any video or songs?
Lately, we have been in a studio working on a song with an American Grammy nominated artist whose identity we can’t disclose now. We have also been in and out of the studio over this project. Prior to this, we have already  completed a song with Illceey , one of Zimbabwe’s  finest artistes.
The new album ‘Grace Made Billionaire”  features lots of artistes like Sokleva ,Threadstones, Ottovonpablo, Steve Williz and other veterans in the industry.

What is your advice for upcoming musicians?
Our advice to upcoming artistes is to first believe in the grace of God that is made available  to them. Then also to understand that success is not on how many records sales or money you have made. Success is simply doing what God wants you to do.  Finally it is for them to build a great relationship with industry people like artistes, media personalities, promoters and DJs.
