The President of the Ekklesiyar ‘Yan’Uwa A Nigeria (EYN) also known as the Bretheren Church, Rev. Joel S. Billi, has said that Nigeria is going through turbulent times, urging President Bola Tinubu to do more in order to bring back sanity in the nation.
Rev. Joel stated this during the 77th General Church Council (GCC) Majalisa, 2024 held at Kwarhi in Hong local government area of Adamawa State.
He reiterated that “never in the history of Nigeria has a government thrown the people into such economic crisis” hence attributing it to poor economic decisions and programmes of government ranging from unplanned removal of subsidy on petroleum products.
“Today the cost of Premium Motor Spirit fluctuates between N695 and N750 per litre in a country that prides herself as an oil producing country for over 60 years, with no functional refinery and depends on importation of every litre of refined petroleum product for local use. ”

He noted that the Church will continue to pray for the government to succeed.
The EYN President whose tenure will elapse soon called on Pastors and delegates to continue to pray for worthy successors, adding that “it is God that ordains one for leadership because He is the one that will keep and guide you in leadership. Remember the spiritual injunctions.”
