The Pastor-in-Charge of Region 46, Ola Adejubee stated this during the media briefing in preparation for the church sports competition in Abuja from May to July, said physical exercise was very important to ensure the good health of citizens, which would also lead to the skyrocketing of their contribution to the nation.
“So, we would not mind if any government department would like to focus or would like to partner with us in this issue of sports and sports development. It is very imperative to emphasise that because the church is part and parcel of the society and our people are also in all facets of life and if they are enjoying sound health, sound mind, it will also be contributing to the benefit of the economy and the nation at large,” he said.
“We have also found out that physical exercises are the antidote to psychosomatic diseases that have been ravaging the health of our people, that have put most of our medical facilities under terrible stress. In fact, it has culminated to other nations preying on this type of thing to exploit our people.”
The church plans table tennis, scrabble, chess, ayo, ludo, darts, basketball, etc with over 5,000 participants, with youths, the clergy, their wives with the grand-finale expected to hold at the Moshood Abiola Stadium, Abuja.
