The NFA board member was reacting to the draws that pitched Nigeria against Liberia in the knockout stage of the Nations Cup.

He said the football house is leaving no stone unturned in ensuring that the Super Eagles defeat the Lone Stars of Liberia in the two legged encounter.

The former Kaduna State FA Chairman said the NFA had prepared an enhanced welfare package for the team in terms of welfare, while logistics were modified.

“Nigeria did not qualify for the last edition and Nigerians were not happy with that but it is a different ball game now.

“We have the materials to qualify for South Africa 2013.

“We have standard players now that can execute high profile matches and I think Coach Steven Keshi knows what the FA wants.

“He defeated the Liberians 2-0 at home in an international friendly, so why can’t it be replicated in a competitive match.

“Even a draw can do a lot but i think we are going there to win and then come back home to win again to qualify,’’ Adamu said.

In the same vein, General Manager of Gombe United football club Farouk Yarma said the dismissal of Nigeria by Guinea in the last qualifiers must not repeat itself against Liberia.

Yarma however, expressed optimism that the Keshi tutored side would pick the Nations Cup ticket at the end of the encounters.

NAN reports that the first leg of the encounter comes up in Monrovia on weekend of September 7-9, with the second leg scheduled for the weekend of October 12-14.

Nigeria was able to make it to this stage after the Super Eagles sent their Rwandan counterparts packing on 2-0 aggregates. (NAN)
