The National Agency for Food and Drugs Administration and Control (NAFDAC) in Gombe State has arrested a suspected dealer of expired drugs.

Acting Coordinator of NAFDAC in the state, Mr Laras Jatau, said the suspect, one Haske Kumo, was arrested at Yalenguruza quarters of Gombe metropolis with expired drugs.

He said the suspect who was a patent medicine dealer, was found in possession of expired drugs stocked in three-bedroom apartment he was staying, which he had already re-validated their expiry dates.

Jatau added that Kumo was arrested while evacuating the drugs to an uncompleted building in the area.

He said the suspect would be prosecuted when investigation is concluded.

Jatau called on members of the public to always purchase drugs from registered pharmacists and pharmaceutical medicine stores.
