We didn’t renounce Kaduna declaration – Northern youths

The Coalition of Northern Groups (CNG) has denied renouncing the declaration it made asking Igbo living in Northern Nigeria to quit.

In a statement signed by its spokesman Abdulazseez Suleiman, the group said it stood by the Kaduna Declaration made on June 6, and called on the public not to believe any contrary report.

“We urge the public and all other stakeholders to disregard that isolated media report and treat it as mischievous, desperate, unwarranted and unfounded,” the group said, urging the public to remain patient as the group would meet today “to review and take a definite stand on our discussions and correspondences with various international and national figures and agencies on the matter.”

Stressing that it remained committed to the Kaduna Declaration, the group said, “We remain desirous of a future united, strong and prosperous Nigeria minus the Biafrans as a component.”
