The Federal Medical Centre (FMC) Keffi, Nasarawa State, says it stabilises people on emergency before demanding for payment of its services.

The Chief Medical Director (CMD) of the hospital, Dr Yahaya Baba Adamu, stated this to leadership of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, Progressives Chapel who paid him a courtesy visit.

“This hospital has a policy of stabilising people on emergencies especially those who are in need of urgent medicare like accident victims among others. We ensure that they are stabilized, reached out to their loved ones, before we demand payment for the services rendered,” he explained.

According to him, this is their corporate social responsibility to the community, travelers and the country at large.

Dr Adamu said the main aim of the hospital was to save lives and enhance better living, noting that that has elevated it as it recently graduated from a buyer to seller of oxygen in large quantity.

He said, despite the demand for more funding for the hospital, they have made progress in establishing a dialysis centre to cater for the people in need, instead of going elsewhere to seek for such service where they spent days queuing up.

The CMD also said they have reduced the cost of delivery and circumcision from N10,000 to N5,000 respectively.
