The North-Central All Progressives Congress (APC) Forum has stated that it does not intend to create divisions within the party ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The forum made the declaration while withdrawing an ultimatum it had earlier issued to the National Chairman of the APC, Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda.

In a statement signed by its National Chairman, Alhaji Saleh Zazzaga, late on Thursday, the forum announced the withdrawal of the ultimatum and extended an apology to Yilwatda.

According to the statement, the forum reviewed the issues that informed its earlier position and decided to withdraw the ultimatum in the interest of party unity and progress.

The forum reiterated its commitment to harmony, peace, and the development of the APC.

“The North-Central APC Forum, as a body of stakeholders of our great party in the North-Central zone, has always been committed to the development and progress of the party.

“Our earlier position concerning the National Chairman, Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, was based on our understanding of the issues at the time. Following further consultations and review, we have decided to withdraw the ultimatum and extend our apologies to the National Chairman and other leaders of the APC.

“The North-Central APC Forum has no intention of instigating a crisis or contributing to any action that could undermine the unity of the APC.

“We remain committed to working with all stakeholders to promote peace, stability, and progress within the party,” the statement said.

The forum urged members of the APC to support and work with the Yilwatda-led National Working Committee (NWC) to strengthen the party ahead of future elections.

It also reaffirmed its commitment to mobilizing support for President Bola Tinubu and the APC in the 2027 general elections, expressing confidence in the party’s prospects in the North-Central region.
