The Mai Anguwar Hausawa community in Kwali Area Council, Malam Audu Adamu, has said his community has suffered power outage for five years.

Adamu, who spoke with our reporter yesterday, said since the transformer which was installed in the area exploded five years ago, the community has remained in darkness.

He said the absence of electricity has affected both social and economic activities in the area, saying many households use generators in their homes.

He also complained over lack of access to fertilizer by farmers, saying majority of residents in the area engage in both rainy and dry season farming. He appealed to the authorities of the council to come to the aid of residents of the area.

Audu also appealed to the FCT agricultural secretariat to assist the farmers with farm inputs such as agro chemicals, seedlings, sprayers and tractors to boost farming in the area.
