The Project Manager of the Original Inhabitants Youth Empowerment Organization (AOIYEO), Mr Bitrus Lawrence Garki, has said one of the main objectives of the organization is to protect the rights of indigenous people of the FCT.
Garki, who stated this during a press briefing in Abuja on Monday, said since its inception ten years ago, the organisation has been working to unite the FCT original inhabitants by seeking redress to many injustices they have been facing.
He said the organization had been executing laudable projects including ‘Promoting the right of FCTOIs,’ in collaboration with Resource Center for Human Right and Civic Education (CHRICED).
According to him, AOIYEO will soon launch KNOW Ask and Follow (KAF) platform to advocate for fair distribution of government’s interventions in communities.
